I went up on Brokeback Mountain
And found it unbearably sad
Jack and Ennis, of course
Them boys, they had it bad
But let’s face facts
They were coming from nowhere
They had nowhere to go
They just felt so damn right
In each other’s arms

I never had anything like that
Most of us lucky to rate the odd weekend
Of pure “D” bliss in a bedroll
But them Brokeback boys
(Why am I channeling Luke and Bo?)
Long nights up on that mountain
Pants down around their ankles
For near-on twenty years
It may only be fiction
But it wounds like ...
