Comments about Alexander Gardner
She said 'Who's there? ' to the midnight air,
as she heard that fateful sigh,
And she turned and squirmed like a tiny worm,
to find that fleeting cry.
But nowhere round she found the sound,
That made her senses fly,
And from the night came the fright,
that made her spirit die.
