Uncertain

I smile into your eyes,
you smile back at mine.
Your arms encircle me,
keep me safe as can be.
I shed a tear,
this is all just too much to bear.
Confusion clouds your face
when I try to give myself space.
'What's wrong, baby? '
Everything, maybe.
No; instead, I ask:
'Do you really think this will last? '
