Allen Ansell Poems

I wanted you…
The hand that softly lay in mine.
The kiss that devoured my lips
And sucked the breath from my world.
...

HOW TO FLY A KITE

First you take the girl
up on the southern Downs -
...

Out of a clear blue sky;

out of a smooth ripple-free pool -
...

I wished for sunflowers to lift their heads.
Feeling the warmth of your breath
they gently sway in tune with my love.
I wished for passion and earthy sweat
...

NO MORE SMILES AT EVENSONG

Let me set the scene:
It is a cold Winter's day
...

A moment of heaven came
When in an innocent move
She threw her arms about me
And I felt the familiar
...

I see the sun stream through the window,
and cascade upon your hair -
like some Goddess lain before me,
but you...

The Best Poem Of Allen Ansell

I Wanted You!

I wanted you…
The hand that softly lay in mine.
The kiss that devoured my lips
And sucked the breath from my world.
The breast pliant and proud beneath my hand
Trembling in desire, impatient to feel…
I wanted you.

I told you that…
My voice silenced and unneeded.
My lips dried with excitement.
My heart beating like a tom-tom.
My fingers tapping out a veiled message
Leaving you to decide whether to hear.
I told you that.

I remembered…
And refuse to believe you don't.
Across the seas my words sailed
Without a ship, without a sail.
Zoomed across your desert, over the fields,
And even though you clicked upon delete,
I remembered.

I needed you…
For God's sake don't you understand?
I was wrong when I said solong…
When I kissed your lovely hand
And pulled it to me one last final time
Slipping it up me, to my crutch…
I needed you… so much.
