Amanda Cater Poems

I get a funny feeling,
it comes from deep inside.
I get all mad and angry,
wanting to go and hide.
...

I Love You
With my every breath,
With all I have left,
From the deepest depths,
...

Innocent child of this earth,
i feel your burden,
heavy on your shoulders,
i cannot see your pain,
...

Not that I do not dream or plan
My dreams, my plans all go amiss
Behind the lofty pinnacle
There is a chasm, a deep abyss
...

I was cold and hurting
lost out in the night
wandering and searching
for heaven's light
...

In my dreams I see you,
Just you and I alone
And we gaze into each others eyes.
Then my arms enfold you,
...

Deep inside of my heart,
Only hatred and no feelings,
The scars from being torn apart,
And the hole from the dart.
...

Forget his name, forget his face,
Forget his kiss and warm embrace.
Forget the time you spent together.
Forget it all he is gone forever.
...

we stood in the doorway
his hands on my waist
the clock tickling loudly
almost in haste
...

Am I Alone

I get a funny feeling,
it comes from deep inside.
I get all mad and angry,
wanting to go and hide.

My doctor calls it depression,
my dad says it's just me.
But the thoughts and feelings,
no one will ever be able to see.

Some say I'm psycho,
some say I'm just weird.
It's like I'm a different person,
and the old me just disappeared.

I get really edgy,
I want to commit suicide real bad.
Then I get a headache,
followed by feeling sad.

I wish I could get help,
I wish it would go away.
Maybe if I keep praying real hard,
it will some day.

Sierra Jenkins 18 January 2007

Hi my name is Sierra Jenkins and I just wanted to say that the poem 'If a child', by Amanda Cater, is a great poem. It also have lines that are very true. Alot of people view children differently. Some may see a troubbled child and criticize him/her without knowing the cercumstances. Many children immitate what they see and hear, and if they are around it long enough they pretty much become their surrounding. Thats why it is up to us in society to be better people so that the kids growing up today can be better people, idividials, and parents than we are today. I just want to say to Amanda Keep Up The Good Work and I look foward to reading more of your poems.
