Turn The World Off Tonight

Oh the sun is leaving
Isn't it a getaway?
I feel it again,
But I remember no word
To tell you the story of my story
If the Nightingale ever came to see
I would ask for its wings
And fly away somewhere people know me
You can forget me
Just tell me

Can we turn the world off tonight?
Can we shine in my light, for just this time?
Call up tomorrow and tell her to come next day
Cause I wish you no longer remember me
The good girl will disappear
And you can say she only existed in your dreams.

The stars are smiling
I wish I could really hear what they were thinking
I always knew I could never be them
I hate that everyone thinks I walked away all sad
When I walked away with so much happiness
I was beginning to wish that I had died right then
Don't think about me
But if you must, then come looking not for me
But for my book of fairytales
Because that's where I am right now.
But please

Can we turn the world off tonight?
Cause my shadow doesn't like the lights.
Can you keep a secret?
Cause I think I am already gone
But I am not certain
And I was kind of hoping you would wake me up

The sun is returning from its walk of the night
And he looks really happy
But tell me something
Have you ever felt this way?
That you have so much to say
But in reality you have nothing to say?
Just let me remind you
That I did not fly way all helpless
Though I know, no one heard me
I flew, singing all the way
I sang and sang and sang
Just like the chirpy Nightingale
So after all of this,

Can you please turn off the world tonight?
Can you feel that I can no longer do it tonight?
Can you hear tomorrow's footsteps
approaching?
Cause I want to thank you for both remembering and forgetting me together
And just hear out my last few golden words,
"I am gone now ".
