The Day We Performed The Blue Carbuncle

Tossing on the bed I spent a sleepless night,
With cowers in my stomach fluttering,
The day that I awaited the most,
The day of the annual gathering.

With anticipation dawned the D-day
All about the famous Blue Carbuncle,
From books of Sherlock uncle.

All was decided the positional fixed,
Costumes booked & props hired,
Time for the last practice;
What a performance it was fantastic! ! !

In the silence of the green room we were,
All perfectly dressed up.
Homes with his pipe and cane,
Watson with his hat looking wane,
Peterson with the goose and all,
Queen with her maid standing tall,
And I making merry with them all.

Now it was six just an hour to go,
Some final touches and murmuring of lines encore,
Then within our whole might and soul-
We blared “Let’s dare! ”

At the back stage now we were,
Our heart beats loud and clear,
Shivering as if a snake was near,
Our temperature dropping in stark fear.

And just then the announcement was made;
Our play began.
We gave our play the best,
With thunderous applaud the curtains came down.

Our heart beats just slowing down;
Homes said, “At last it’s done! ”.

Even when his speech did not end,
“My i-phone’s lost” cried one friend.
We clasped our forehead with our palm,
Wasn’t the blue carbuncle enough;
For an new i-phone mystery to come! ! !
