After Anzac 1991. Worth Fighting For?

We left behind the hills and dales
The factories and farms.
And we left behind our loved ones
When we heard the call to arms

And in some the hearts were heavy
And in others they were high
For blind fortune does not tell to man
Who'll live and who will die.

And some succumbed to torture
To bayonet, gas and shell
Some died in screaming agony
And dammed the War to Hell

Some died amid the bitter snows
Or tropic jungle trails.
Some died on land and sea and air
In search of Holy Grails.

We fought to stop oppression,
