Andrew Ogdee Poems

At first glance the world around me is so much more beautiful than I remember. Believe.
Captivating, brilliant; the most gorgeous aura of life I've ever witnessed. Smile.
I look to the skies, wondering where I could be or what has happened, unknowing of my surroundings. Stand.
Apart of me wants to remain here forever, the other part wants me to escape. Decide.

It begins with the emotions bleeding through the pages.
Chapters forever rambling through the misery like a never-ending story.
One day, the paragraphs that contain the pain will end. One day.
Each sentence carefully crafted to describe the depth of the agony.

Valley Of Dreams

At first glance the world around me is so much more beautiful than I remember. Believe.
Captivating, brilliant; the most gorgeous aura of life I've ever witnessed. Smile.
I look to the skies, wondering where I could be or what has happened, unknowing of my surroundings. Stand.
Apart of me wants to remain here forever, the other part wants me to escape. Decide.
I've never felt so lost, yet so at peace. Although confused, I was able to smile. Stop.
I take a step forward, and the view begins to shift. The sky begins to darken. Hurry.
The further I walk, the more distorted this once beautiful place becomes. Realize.
I can feel again. The pain. Fight.
It all suddenly becomes too real, as if I've woken up. Reach.
I feel my heart slowly relaxing as my mind starts to race. Leave.
A drop of water hits my face as I begin to quicken my steps. Run
The weather is changing, as if my emotions can control it. Think.
The more it becomes real, the worse the storm becomes. Escape.
A sudden snap into the panic begins. My skin tightens. Focus.
I can see the end, it's so close. Survive.
The struggle to remain who I am becomes intense and familiar. Breathe
Everything stops, the rain, the struggle, the fight. Her.
She's my everything. My drive. My life. She's also not real. Wake up. Dream.
