with a broom I turn into past
the pockmarked fronrtyard
of the sleeping house.

She who paints,
draws jackfruits
on the branches of the jackfruit tree
and on the roots

This, my school

You: A dot of sun
I: A speck of green.

In acute restraint
we die of want

On the bough
The bird came to rest
Green leaves caressed by the breeze
Moving

A lone bow-string
I stretch taut
above the endless earth,

Hammer alone,
aching from
an unromantic genesis,

on which history
