Anthony Opondo Poems

you yearn for another,

that fits and keeps your suave,
...

child, please dont cry when we fail 2 try.
Child, smile with me even when a mile we walk through troubles.
Child, brace me with your love and forever you live by his grace.
Child, i know not of tomorrow but walk with me.
...

A journey of a thousand miles,
begins with a single step,
A journey of hope,
begins with a step of faith,

Tighten Your Laces

you yearn for another,

that fits and keeps your suave,

on any road that leads to your happiness

to walk without a frown and crown your face with a smile but-

would they bare to wear your shoes?

in all forms there can be a shoe,

not in all norms would you just wear a shoe

if heels would raise you closer to the heavens

you would bargain the price-

to rise beyond the pain that you live to wear lows that keep you closer -

to hell

is it this shoes or is it your shoes?

old is gold,

to wear that which you walk when not bold,

does it make you glow or you take a bow to shame?

you seek that which is new while the gesture of your pocket-

squeaks the sound of few

better your old a shoe than a new that is none.

with them you trod through and made nostalgic memoirs,

the growth that is numerical as it ascends with age,

the shoes of life that you have worn with swagger and sage,

much smaller or bigger you wore them in pain and joy
