A Silent Serene Scream

Because
there was a storm
KNOCKING at my door.
I didn’t know this.
[I closed the door]
Tighter and tighter…
Shivering in my skin.
I didn’t want it!

I didn’t know it.

Or was it small?
Black?
Or
Gray?
It’s spooky!
I shut my eyes
My heart is a drum beat.
I scream
The thunder howls
