My ally name is Arnold Blake and I am holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics. Recently, I have completed my MA Degree in Creative Writing. I am currently based in Greece as a freelance proofreader and also a member of a local cultural group, holding its artistic direction. I write poems and theatrical improvisations both in Greek and English Language and I have tried also writing prose or fiction. I participated in an internet-based competition of the writing blog “121 Words” and I have won, among 19 others, a place in its bilingual edition “Mikri mou Kardia/My Little Heart”. My interests are found in classic and contemporary British and Irish Literature, where Virginia Woolf and Sarah Kane theatre hold the throne. Finally, I am also trying graphic design and I have made some minimal visuals inspired by the “De Stijl” movement.)
Nocturnal
This being the middle of the night,
the roads are empty.
Nothing left to this storm.
Even the garden stiffened.
Alone. I am alone.
As a dark huge shawl weaves over the sky
a mist of dreams
mixed with night's moist,
nothing moves.
In or out.
Back or forth.
When the thunder strikes
and the tide is ebbing,
the sky mourns.
A deafening roar.
A wail of the night.
The wind rises over the horizon,
the waves wither.
The rocks are smashed,
the trees are dancing to
an unchoreographed dance.
My hands are arid.
I am not here anymore.
I am sitting over the edge,
dissolving myself
with my own wet hands.
