He just sits there and takes it, then cries himself to sleep and dreams about a better life

You feel helpless; it’s out of your control
But you want more than anything to feel human once again

Hi my name is Ashley. I was born in Wisconsin, I have 2 step brothers and 3 half brothers along with 1 step sister and 1 half sister...Yes my family is big and its a long story...I love photography and i just recintly got intrested in poems, i use to write them but never really thought anything of them untill my English teacher told me i was good at writeing...if you have any questions just ask...)

Better Place Now
She yells at him morning, day and night
The mean things she says to him goes in one ear and out the other
He doesn’t understand what he did wrong to disserve the beatings he got
He just sits there and takes it, then cries himself to sleep and dreams about a better life
As the days go by he collects more and more bruises but yet keeps it to himself
He sits there and watches his mom polish off that last beer and wonders what he’s going to get beat for this time
As he screams mommy please!
She just hits him even harder,
People hear but they don’t tell…
What she did that night no one talks about…they just say that the pour five year old boy is in a better place now.
