I Was A Fool

I'd like to say that I was a fool.
But I was not.
Only in retrospect, yet again, was I such.
A fool, though, of the purple courts
Was much needed.
The eyes, the ears, the tongue
Of His Majesty.
Veiled in humour and candour,
Of Silly-ness and Stupidity.
The Fool shone
His work done,
He'd whisper.
