Aurel Mirashi Poems

Like Daniel in the lion's den,
I pray for the beacon of light,
For the sweet taste of freedom.
Please save me from these hungry lions,
...

Wake up in the morning, peer through the window,
Thoughts overflow, then come to a halt,
The shadows on the wall dance around your head,
The darkness creeps deep into your body.

Lion's Den

Like Daniel in the lion's den,
I pray for the beacon of light,
For the sweet taste of freedom.
Please save me from these hungry lions,
They will tear my flesh apart,
Gnaw on my bones, defile this body of mine.

Defenseless, I stare death in its eye,
My heart is racing,
My blood is frozen cold.
I feel the breath of demise in my face,
My knees are slowly bending,
To the ferocious breath of the lions.

Venerable ugly creatures, stop teasing me,
Keen on clawing my throat,
Don't come near, you terrible beasts.
Please, save me, anyone,
Shine a light upon a feller in need,
Release me from the chains of this nightmare.

I beg you! Please!
