Hurt Me Once Shame On You, Hurt Me Twice Shame On Me

His eyes whispered goodbye as he slipped away
My cheeks trickled, my heart turned black
Like a terminal illness he stole my life away
Emptiness laughed in my face and to the ground I went
Everyone staring around me, blurry and slurred speech

Opening my red swollen eyes, I was confused
I always knew that love hurt but death destroyed me
All my will and strength to live, snatched away
A carpet from beneath my feet dragged through hell
A train that wouldn’t stop or take me back

Now, I’m past exhaustion
I don’t feel well, not like I’m supposed to
