The Happiness Test

I was enrolling for a webinar- 'Mental Health amidst isolation'
And suddenly my alarm went-'time for happiness examination'
Anxious, I got up, opening and shutting the drawers
Finally I found the endorphinograph hidden behind the oximeters
Instantly I put it on my finger and it read '98'
Heaved a sigh of relief since my endorphins were more than my weight!
I put the instrument down as I realised I was getting late
For the results of the happiness test determined my fate
Back of the mind I had a fear
Will I be awarded the 'Happiest Employee of the Year'?
I remembered the instructions from my yoga session
Deep breathe, inhale, exhale and 5 mins of meditation
I didn't have 5 mins but at my disposal I had my wit
So I hid my anxiety under a layer of makuep,2 shades above my fit!
I concealed and contoured a bit
because masking your blemishes is always legit!
Standing in front of the mirror at my boss's behest
I was ready to take the happiness test
Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the happiest of 'em all?
The mirror looked at me with apprehension
and posed a counter-question:
'When was the last time you were happy and why? '
'When I received a compliment from that guy'
'But you know that was a lie'
'Umm..then..I was happy when I got rid of my acne scar'
'Then my dear happiness is too far.
As long as you think health is weight lost at the gym,
Your chances of being happy are grim
Until you stop mistaking confirmity as happiness,
All the endorphino-graphs are useless'
'All that's okay mirror on the wall,
But I am not content, I didn't get the award after all! '
