And The Bottom Line Is

The bottom line, I could define
A phrase we all detest.
It seems that every inept clod
Could put the term to rest! But those that need to emulate
will always use that line.
They think because it sounds so smooth
their talks will turn out fine! Both Donahue and Oprah,
and other talk show hosts,
still use the words, "The Bottom Line"
Whenever it serves them most. I think the guilty spokesman
who bred this verbal decline
will someday have to eat his words
and that's "THE BOTTOM LINE."
