THE UNHELPED HEROES

They see a vision most do not see
A better nation for you and me
The choice they make, makes us free
Soldiers these men and women sign up to be
They train hard while we live carefree
They never stop though may take a knee

They give so much we never see
They are a special breed from you and me
Blood, sweat, time, and tears, remember freedom is not free
It's their dedication that lets us be
They are courageous while we are all carefree
They run toward danger as others flee
They never stop though may take a knee

Battered, broken, and forgotten but we choose not to see
We owe them much you and me
However, what a blind nation we can be
Promised help without a fee
But turned away without humility, freedom is not free
The VA is not what where it needs to be
Oh, what a blind nation we can be
