Use red wine here for your libations,
I can't drink that anyway
and keep the whisky wry
No ice please

Writing jokes to Sigmund Freud
is not such a bright thing to do,
for a start it takes him two weeks
to reply, with a character assessment

Under the gnarly trees
of the Somerset apple
where the summer sighs

Holy Poe
there's a tornado
in my mind, that won't let
the ideas settle

What's more than enough
to occupy, that need to be
at ease with an image
of that self you wish you had become

The Best Poem Of Bruce Ruston

Dionysus

Use red wine here for your libations,
I can't drink that anyway
and keep the whisky wry
No ice please

A singularity of entombment
in the pathos disco,
Nightclubs, Better to drink
whiskey in the corner
of Jazz, Blues or silence

Don't battle Prometheus
for fire, no strength for
wine harvesting nor sock repair
Better to turn to the art,
of cockroach taming
for amusement

Dionysus you may
own the Friday revellers
these painted and scented
goat herds, almost
stampeding through
any social centre

I'd rather consider the shape
and form of commercial
teabags, just how many
holes do they need
to control flavour

Use red wine here for your libations,
I can't drink that anyway
and keep my whisky clever
