Cord Of Light

Chaotic events make manifest, bridging the gap in our lives..
Consequential conversations, linking our bodies and minds.

The cord always there from the beginning to the end.
A bond of light from heart to heart, over space and time.
Always there from the beginning to end, across all space and time.

So familiar, so unreal, like we've played together as children.
How can I know someone so different from me so well?
Maybe two parts of the same soul? May never know or tell...

But now I ask, why we're not together, and the connection stretched so thin.
And I wonder, what is the reason, and why aren't we one again?
Was that joy only for a season, and had its time and place?
Burned in my mind, both smiles and tears, gleaming from your face.

We may not again be together in this life, if so I'll have to wait.
The same forces that brought our contact, now push and separate.
But I believe in what we have, I know it's as real as my breath.
I know now that the love is pure and will be with me until my death.

You're so deeply bound to me, as you've seen through the window of my eyes.
So I'll hide inside the love I feel, the connection I won't deny.
I swallow down the words I'd say, and keep them locked up tight.
I conceal, but will never sever, the brilliant cord of light.
