New Love

It was cold outside the snow was falling but there in your arms it was as warm as a clear summer morning, for once I felt safe, we were dancing in the dark, my head on your chest, I looked into your eyes, those dark beautiful eyes of a man that really seemed to care, I fell for your smile, I fell for your laugh, this was something that just had to last, the night went on and there was but one blanket to share, then I found myself wrapped in it and you were there, you kissed my head then told me goodnight and held me in your arms all through the night, when the dawn had broke I was still listening to your heart, again I felt safe, you had not done what the others always had done, you loved me that night and I didn’t have to fight, who is this man that I stumbled upon this man that seemed to know just what to do, for I was broken inside until I met you, we went for a walk down the tracks we talked and we laughed the sky was clear I could see the stars but the beauty was that I was there in your arms, we went back home and again we danced listening to you breath I was taking a chance, would this last or would you change to become like the others and push your way, but again morning came and it was all just the same, you loved me and held me all through the night never trying to push that physical line. I found a new kind of love in your arms, one I did not know existed, for me love had always been some how twisted. Fate may have had other things for us in mind but at least I was loved this way once in my time, you’ll always be with me how could you not, these memories will last and never be forgot, I thank you for these and many others too, just please know that I loved you too.
