The Light And The Abyss

born in love and raised in care
a child whose heart is ever so rare

perfectly pure and untouched by evil
the glowing heart began to shrivel

to be betrayed by one so trusted
the forever pure heart became ever so rusted

to grow and to hate, the child tore at the seams
for the boy's doors closed and began to gleam

the door reflected just like a mirror
reflecting the hate onto those who hold the boy dear

he cannot control this, however, you see?
the boy was swept into an eternal dark sea

the sea is full of thoughts and tainted hate
an abyss with no escape, the boy excepted his fate

but down comes a light, shining above
for those who care, show the boy love

he tries to return it but without question he fails
for his heart has become rusted and full of bent nails

he sinks again into his loneliness
back into the sad and dark abyss
