No breeze even blowing this way
To go out in this heat takes a fool

I listen for the sound of magical love
Musicians tuning their sounds up there
Greet me every day as I climb the stairs

Compose in rhyme or in prose
Words on paper, thoughts expose
Check the grammar and typos
Begin to write; see how it goes

Please don't try to diagnose me
Mental illness is real, not mythology
Stop trying to fix me; just let me be
As hard as you try there is no remedy

Common sense cannot be taught
Not begged, borrowed, or brought
Like the human heart it needs exercise
Without precious air, it eventually dies
