Pressing On

I keep my mind in focus because I know there’s no guarantee…
Ten years from now I wonder just where I will be?
Life’s so hard for me right now, but there’s no time to pout or grind my teeth.
So many dreams I want to live out, I know I’ve got to believe.

So little time for rights and wrongs, I’ve got to keep my stride strong.
Though I know there will be obstacles in life, I’ve made a commitment within to keep pressing on.

There are people in this world, I guess, who want to see the end of me.
So I’ve got my head held so high that I disable them from bringing me down with their obscenities.

The world they live in and how they live in it just never became of me.
How do you live a life full of hate, jealousy, and envy?
I’ll use what is given and grab those who hate me as if a double edged sword -
Chop through all the detours in life and keep pressing on.
