Emotions

sighs why are my emotions so mixed up right now?
why do i have this feeling of hurt inside?
I'm wondering what to do
how to get through
to you, to me
to the world itself
it feels like I'm lost
like I'm falling head first
into the dark dreary pits of this thing called emotions

It hurts inside
it hurts outside
i feel hurt even when i try to hide
it seems like this turmoil is never ending
like the pain inside is never dying
like the emotions i try to hide are never fading
like the wounds are never changing

the people you expect to hurt you the least
to be there for you when the times get rough
when you feel so low it hurts
those, are the people
the people that hurt you nonchalantly
willingly consciously
without ever stopping to think of the repercussions of their actions
the pain you have to bear after

after the storm has gone
the rains have passed the little child in the story has run
her course
has been hurt and has cried
all the tears she had bottled up inside
that's when you realize who your true friends are
that's when you realize what happens in the dark
cause not every smile is a welcoming friendship
not every bit of laughter is that of a friend

Cause at the end of the day
at the beginning of the night
That's when it all comes to light
That's when your eyes are opened and your mind roams free
Away from everyone from
You and even me
That's when you realize how lonely the world is
And that's when you say
"So this is how life is?
