Christina Brunton Biography

I am young but I have been interested in literature for a long while and I have been trying to find ways to develop that even more than I already have. I do write stories but mostly on FanFiction about anime's so nothing too serious there but little snippet's. Poetry is something that I have currently been working on that has caught my eye. I am quite picky about my Poetry, I have a tendency to rhyme in almost all of my poems because whenever I read / write a poem and it has no rhymes it starts to bug me so I guess it's kind of like a pet-peeve. I know some people say that 'Rhymes hold back the person's feelings, restraining them! ' but I think quite the opposite. I find it challenging, trying to find just the right words that express yourself but yet give a nice ring to the whole poem. I also love finding new words and learning about them just to add something to my vocabulary but I'm going to say this now that I am deeply sorry if you catch any grammar or spelling mistakes or usage of a word improperly but a mature hint and positive criticism to help me is greatly appreciated.)

Winter Wasteland

I look outside my window
Look over the frosted land
Can’t seem to find the beauty
In this pit of chilled white sand

Tree's left bare and unprotected
It has this ghostly feel
Nothing seems to be moving everything just lies still

White flakes slip from the sky above
Filling the ground with their pallid love
Filling the air with its twisted winds
Dancing their unique spins

Frost and ice cover the ground
Working together without a sound
It's slick and slippery, you might fall
And you wouldn't want to get into that kind of brawl

Feel as if you’re starting to decay
Life flows out of you day after day
Trying to cover yourself in warmth
Failing miserably as the winds come from the north

A colorless glow emits from the snow
Dancing awkwardly along the barren tree's
Take a step in, you’re up to you knee
Can’t flee from the winters embrace

As I look outside my window
And look at the white sand
I can see now that this season isn't anything but a
Winter Wasteland
