Have you ever seen a man say goodbye to his shoes?
Speeding across the pock-marked road,
gliding to electric adventure in the crackling heat.
Motorcycle sidecar for six,
twenty people cling on
to the overflowing suitcase that hurtles along
a lost highway of adventure. Time cuts.
A swathe through the essential jungle.
Purposely pressing it's petulant progress,
heedlessly determined to reach the journey's final end.

Flip-flopping on the warm endless breeze,
idling drifting towards wondrous thoughts.
Summer grasps shoes to allow them to fly,
carried on the wind
to corners seldom used and yet to be
found.
Alas I've never seen a man say goodbye to his shoes,
but I'm glad there's a boy in the Philippines who has.
