Sweet Sixteen

(In memory of Barbara: She will always be young & beautiful & sixteen) "Don't worry, mom," she said.
"Nothing will happen to me—I'm sixteen."
Then one night, she disappeared.
They didn't find her until the
following year.
She had no fear. She died alone,
with only God at his throne.
He tried to comfort her
as best as He could,
as he held her close to his side.
Then he took her far away,
To his kingdom up in the sky.
