There is a trunk in the attic Full with love letters And memories I dare not explore From a lovely young maiden Whom I once loved so dearly Back in the days of yore She married another Without saying goodbye And left me alone Just as blue as the sky I took up drinking as a hobby It turned into a twenty-four hour a day job I was driven to excessive drinking I drank day or night I just had to have a drink I was lost as the trunk in the attic So I joined AA I threw my bottle away Now I am happy living Just one day at a time.
