Her bright cloak, midnight shining
Her eyes shone like coals
Watching unseen souls

Whispers of “You don’t belong ~
Escape while still you can, ”
Echoing against my ear, begging me to listen

And for moment stop and pause, maybe wonder
find the cause.
The forests are gathering; the waters, plotting.
it will come.

When countless winds have passed us by,
and watching, hidden, bluebirds sigh,
one begins to wonder
just what the world might mean.
