Your Thoughts

Your thoughts haunt me when my heart is weak
Wish I could take you out of my brain
Tell my heart not to beat faster every time you cross my mind
Like the summer breeze, it silently blows
It pierces my heart when the wind touches my skin
No one sees it but I feel it

I could feel my shivering breath struggling to control the tears not to come out of my eyes
I bite my lips and rolled my eyes trying to distract my mind
But hey, you just won't leave me easily
The wound was deep, deeper than the love we shared
I know you wouldn't have done it to hurt me
Things just turned out that way and I don't blame you

All these years we have been through together
I was young when I met you, so do you
We sat on the same class, we studied together in library
You often steal a look of me in the middle of lectures
You wrote poems for me at the back of your notebook
We sat on the side of the green wooden chair under the tree talking making memories

I watched you play cricket, I have watched you discussing about the subjects with friends.
They listened to you like you were already a professor
There was time I was very ill and was hiding from everyone about my sickness
But you can just tell by a glance, you asked me "you look pale, are you sick? "
Numb with the doses of medication, I often slept off
The room would be empty when I opened my eyes but you were always there waiting for me
I could feel the hole in my heart breathing with ease when I saw you

Then, you grab my hand, put in on your arms and walk me home everyday
Your crazy ideas of our future, your crazy tree house stories
You're one of a kind and I couldn't think of anyone better mentor than you
The tastes of your lips, the feel of your touch
Your hands running down on my hair, the hug that could barely make me breathe
You loved to capture my every turns and moments when I'm not aware

With you, there was really nothing to argue or fight about
We silently look at each other and all you got to say to me was "I'm gonna get you no matter what"
Apparently, we grow older together
We prayed, we laughed, we cried we have done almost every possible thing together
I know life hasn't been fair for both of us but it's okay we shared love like no one does

When I'm not thinking of you, you came in my dream
You still give me sleepless nights, endless thoughts with no answer
I heard from your friends that things didn't turn out well for you
Deep down, I believe that you can do better
I know I completely cut off with you and you miss me like I do
Trust me, you'll be fine without me


After all these years, you pleaded for me
You said with a shattered voice "Jean it's been long no one hugged me"
I can see your eyes filled with tears and regrets
I know how you feel at that moment and I broke down
I act like I don't care but honestly I could give you millions of hugs to last the life time
