Daniel Burns Poems

Across the sea, where silence sleeps,
My anxious heart its vigil keeps.
Unwell, I know, but nothing more,
No message comes from the distant shore.

His wonders to perform:
He plants His footsteps in the sea,

A breath you cannot see,
It whispers through the air.
A swift, unfettered glee,
Then nowhere, then everywhere

The woods are draped in amber light,
As autumn pulls the day from night.
The air, so crisp, it bites the skin,
And whispers softly where we've been.

I Worry For You

Across the sea, where silence sleeps,
My anxious heart its vigil keeps.
Unwell, I know, but nothing more,
No message comes from the distant shore.

The ocean stretches, vast and deep,
While in thoughts of her my spirit steep
In gnawing quiet. Is she well?
This untold story of stillness has cast its spell.

So all I have is a hopeful plea,
And endless prayer sent across the sea.
That health may return, that peace may bloom,
That light may fill her world's gloom.
