Thank You Mom

Today we take time out to honor you Mom,
And we do all sorts of things to mark the occasion.
We buy you roses, we buy you presents and we say all sorts of complimentary things about you,
But above all the fanfare and the buzz of activities, I don't want to forget to say thank you.

Thank you Mom for caring for me before I was introduced to the world.
Thank you Mom for watching over me as I grew through the years.
Thank you Mom for being a source of strength when I all but gave up.
Thank you Mom for believing in me when I did not believe in myself.
Thank you Mom for always making time for me no matter how busy you were,
But most of all thank you Mom for praying for me.

Thank you Mom for insisting on me going to Church as often as I did,
Thank you for the Christ like example you set for me since I was a Kid.
Thank you for always being willing to lend a listening ear,
Thank you for always being willing to give me a much-needed cheer.
Thank for always being willing to go the extra mile
Just to see your child smile.

Thank you for not sparing the rod and spoiling your child,
Even though you appeared so meek and mild.
Thank you for your perpetual honesty,
Even when I thought it was not the best policy.
Thank you for your unconditional love,
Some day I hope to be found deserving of so rich a love.

So on this day that we seek to honor you,
I just want to say,
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
I thank God for you
And I will strive to show my love and appreciation for you,
Not just today, but on all the other days too.
