Why is the world so cold?
When the trees are blooming,
And the birds begin to sing,
Tears begin to fall.
Hearts are stabbed, shot, and burned.
Leaving them forever scarred.

Some never make it pass surgery,
For the pain tortures the mind with the many doors that are open,
The doors, that lead to hell.
With the veil over their conscience,
They run through those doors,
In hope, that it will ease the grief caused by losing the ones that kept them up for so long.

Everyone is parting ways,
Everyone is saying their goodbye’s,
To those they knew.

For those that were more than peers, or classmates,
Those who were friends,
Take down numbers, and say, “I’ll call you”
Or “Stay in touch”.

But after the years pass by,
And people move on,
Childhood memories like these are long forgotten.
Because…

“Nothing gold can stay.”
