Dawn Smith

Dawn Smith Poems

Waves crashing
Hate thrashing
Overwhelming grief
And sadness
...

What if angels have poisoned tipped wings
What if God is really just a story book king
What if life is only a twisted game
Pieces frantically searching for a safer place
...

The Task

Waves crashing
Hate thrashing
Overwhelming grief
And sadness
Leading me to madness
My mind can't make sense
Of all the pain
There's so much confusion
That it crushes my brain
My faith disappears
And I try to escape
Fleeing the confines of this place
Breaking my chains
With all the rage
Hateing myself for
Feeling this way
Lost in this awful world
Of so much despair
Waiting for a savior
That isn't there
Longing for something
To make it all go away
And then not having the strength
For the task
I've come to complete
