My romance with poetry has been full of hiccups but our bond seems to be unbreakable, for no matter how much we try to drift away from each other, the tides of time have a way of bringing us back together. I grew up in Nigeria, Makurdi, Benue State to be precise, I emigrated to the USA in 2014. I take each day as it comes; hoping to enjoy each one more than the previous one.)
Moments
It's just like a fable
Of a past king so noble,
Into my mind's eye come the picture
Of him staring into the future.
Reminiscent on his shortcomings,
Efforts at redress forthcoming.
The pen a mighty sword in his hands,
And the paper - a protective shield against ignorance.
The poetic blood flows strongly in his veins
As powerful as horse steered by its reins.
The words emanates from his brain
And pours down like the rain.
So privileged am i to hear about you from my Ma
Talk more of having you as my Pa.
