Depression is a dark place, a place you don’t want to be
Some days are better than others, but those are few and far between

Depression can make things look different
...

Life is precious like the sun rising over the early morning dew or a full moon shining down on an open field covered with the first frost

Life is precious like the first kiss with your first love or like marrying your high school sweetheart
...

I have two angels that watch over me each and everyday
I can’t see them but I know they are there

I sense a presence around you when I am troubled
...

The night is thick with darkness
I stand and hear the silence
No one can see the pain I am in
Yet, the morning will still come in
...

I have reached the Pearly Gates Dear Friend
And here I am in pain no more
I will wait for you here
For one day we will join again

Me

Depression is a dark place, a place you don’t want to be
Some days are better than others, but those are few and far between

Depression can make things look different
It puts you in a different world

You look for the light to shine one day
But the light seems so far away

Depression affects my family and friends
I don’t have the will to do things with them

I try really hard to overcome this demon
With pills and prays but someday are just so hard

Others don’t understand depression
Only because they think it’s by my choice

But walk a day in my shoes and see what I go through
You will find the darkness, sadness and feelings of doom

Depression is not a place I want to be
So I fight with all my might

For one day I will be free of this darkness
One day I will be ME
