Birth

Darkness
Feeling warm
Knees to chest
Softness all around me
Safely tuckind inside Mother’s womb
Walls begin to close
Pushing me down
Bright Lights
Noise
So loud
Cold all over
Hands beginning to pull
The womb is far behind
Emerge into the unknown
I’m so afraid
Eyes hurting
Love
Mother’s arms
Returning to safety
Delicious milk flowing freely
Familiar voices saying to me,
“We love you, Baby”
“You are beautiful”
I’m perfect
