Debra McGrew Poems

Those salty bitter tears
Come form my many fears
A fear of not being good enough
And the expectation to be treated rough
...

The sun continues to beam down
I slowly lie myself on the ground
I gaze up at the beautiful sky
Tears fill my eyes as I begin to cry
...

There Is A Reason To Cry...

Those salty bitter tears
Come form my many fears
A fear of not being good enough
And the expectation to be treated rough

Of those times when no one is there
Someone telling they don’t care
Care about how I feel
How there is no way without a will
To continue to produce a fake smile
And how it will only be there for a little while

Now that my tears have stopped
And all of my pride has been dropped
I will hold my head up high
Hold in the urge to cry…
