And pure, untainted sadness as my inevitability,

I like the simple things,
She likes it complicated,
Fast cars and diamond rings,
And I'm tryin' hard to make it,

I once knew a boy,
Claimed he was sentimental,
Said his mind and body functioned on a higher level,
Than those who're just concerned with sexual desire,

The extent of the greed of mankind, is sickeningly depressing,

for a person would rather fill their wallet, than give a single blessing,

My hopes have abandoned me, I lay goal-less and lost,

My own faults have caused this, and I'm paying the cost,

The constant, majestic twinkling of stars in navy blue skies
