Devonte Manusina Poems

Some days I feel like a leprechaun at the end
On other days I feel like the one in search for the gold at the beginning.
Through restless nights and sleeping days.
Through cold lava and flaming snow.
...

I sharpen the mental blade to see clearly, everything I thought was clear fades away.
A new bliss forms within me.
A power.
Unexplainable.

Over The Rainbow

Some days I feel like a leprechaun at the end
On other days I feel like the one in search for the gold at the beginning.
Through restless nights and sleeping days.
Through cold lava and flaming snow.
Through the raining in droughts and clashes of waves in the sand.
Through the final exhale of the wind and to the beginning breath of fire
I realize.
I am the rainbow.
Still yet moving in a thousand shades of colors only the eye can see.
I am the one in search of gold hoping to crack a landline of treasure in hopes of comforting my love.
I am the leprechaun greedy and waiting on what seems like an ancient tale of freedom.
Within the palm I see the world.
Within the world I see.
Not the dirt, not the people, nor the races of nature.
I see one.
A continuous flow of what seemed like darkness.
A chaos so beautiful yet so destructive.
I ask myself what is it that I have that has ceased to exist yet.
Light.
I step in.
A chaos of light and darkness forming and being.
I dive deeper into what seems like certain death.
"I got you" I heard.
In the face of darkness.
Darker than black it almost seems like light.
I stare and smile as I see a flailing light on the other side.
Hope.
As I walk through the valley to light.
"I see" I said.
A child with a shroud of darkness consumed and lost.
I stare at the flailing light only to see my own reflection of a bright but dim light.
I move closer to the blinding light.
Shroud slowly despising.
A voice not of any words but of just understanding.
I love you.
