Rain

From the parched earth to the scorched farmer
Looked upto the blistering Sun and blue sky for favour
When mean heat was the order of the day
And green trees and plants turned into hay
Everywhere pervaded muttering of silent prayer
‘Oh God! Where has gone our rain saviour? ’
Dark and galloping grey clouds began drumming
Is stage set for stolen water’s home-coming?
Veering winds went steering through dry land
Acclaiming the advent of soothing rain God
Air reeks of sweet smell of the soil
Does nostalgia not make here a perfect foil?
Watching thou from shelter is boon, drenching a bliss,
Hail to thou, thirst quenching celestial kiss! !
