Explorer's Experience

Midnight and nothing in my sight,
Searching for an elephant in the dark night,
At least the moon, moving towards the west,
May be it was my career's worst.

Under the thick black roof,
I was wandering for any proof,
I see atop a hungry rook,
I feel my cross pendant like a rood.

In the middle, I reached a glittering water,
A huge elephant calm in the water,
A paw mark deep with water,
None to sweep my fear with a glass of water.

I know I am literally on kneel,
The growl from aside me like a knell,
I started smoking like a kiln,
By the approaching kin.

They were ready to pounce,
I have never dreamt of it once,
A rumbling engine came for my cell phone from the gap,
I never knew whether I missed my ceremony or a snap.
