Dr Partha Protim Banerjee Poems

Society burns in silence, slow and deep,
A fire unnamed, unseen, yet ever near,
It takes the dreams that restless wanderers keep,
And turns to ash the things we held most dear.
...

The night steps back, the darkness fades,
The stars bow down, the moon cascades,
A breath of gold breaks through the hill,
The world wakes up, so soft, so still.
...

You're far away, across the sea,
But in my heart, you're here with me,
Ireland to India, night to day,
My love for you won't fade away.
...

Little boy left home all alone
Little boy left joy left toys all alone
Little boy lost love cried so far all alone
Little boy lost touch slept so far all alone

My father is no more
mother too is ailing now
chance to recapitulate
the old mind space with

Calcutta my pain, my love, my pleasure, my frustration,
My depression, my logic, my untold tension'
From British colonial confusion to today's self exploitation
Skies are losing their color

I told you to look in to my eyes
To look you better
Look in to my eyes to fly you better

Train stops'bus stops'boat starts the day
I cross the canal'cross the sand
Cross the country'cross their home land
Cross words'cross all my shyness

Let me walk, let me walk alone, let me walk on the shore
Let me walk in a solitary lane, let me walk in gentle breeze
Let me walk with an idea alive, let me walk with a few friends
Let me walk a few extra miles even when I am tired
...

Redeem your choice of misguided mind
Lest we both
Cry and lose love for each other...

Morning tea got delayed,
my lovely daughter left me yesterday,
breakfast never reached,
maid didn't clean my room,

Friends, family
Leaving home
All behaving funny

On gravity...
The peace loving soil is coming down
From the hard working mountain top to poetic river bed
...

Someone unknown tracked your lips
Your easy very easy light floating smile
Sweet very sweet tasty green smile
...

Just now opened my hands
Legs, head, neck and chest

One by one opened all parts
...

All are escapists
One by one all of my friends
Decided to leave me'but do you know
...

Once for all
Decided to change
Free falling birds
Made it happen

Sweet home far away, my dear

Enjoy if possible a silent moonrise or

Long lasting peace like a long wave flows in me, only in me
Flows like the joyous tide to the idle pool by the shore only for me
All musical waves and sensual tides are mine forever
It is my affection, my happiness, my long search for unknown peace...

The Burning World I Dr. Partha Protim Banerjee

Society burns in silence, slow and deep,
A fire unnamed, unseen, yet ever near,
It takes the dreams that restless wanderers keep,
And turns to ash the things we held most dear.

The sky burns red, the wind burns through the trees,
The shadows melt before they touch the ground,
The ones you loved dissolve like autumn leaves,
And love itself burns down without a sound.

They hid in darkness, wrapped in fragile dreams,
Believing night would shield them from the flame —
But fire is patient, crueler than it seems,
It found them all, and wrote each burning name.

Some burn in grief, some burn in sleepless nights,
Some burn in joy that turns to hollow ache,
Some burn in bodies losing all their fights,
Some burn for love they cannot bear to take.

Like newborn souls who cannot tell the cost,
Man torches man and watches embers fly —
Then slips away into the woods and lost,
Leaving the world to burn beneath the sky.

Society burns in silence, slow and deep,
A wound the world has no more strength to weep.
