The waning grandeur and pleasure of spring,
The silence of the garrulous cuckoos,
The noiseless hum of restless bees in hives,
Back they welcomed the summer’s coming.
Wayward beaus and belles hiding in bowers
Unloosed moral bondage of their own,
While the vulgar flights of the humming birds
Liked to suck the essence of virgin flowers.
The angry Rudra down came to the Earth
The fiery summer, dreaded comer, bade
Farewell to the spring to unleash the blaze
Of shooting eye of the day in wrath.
Danced the Rudra with the whirling wind
