Heart-Broken

When she was young, she was joyous and bright.
She was happy each day and each night.
She promised herself that nothing could bring her down.
Said "Nothing in the world could make me frown."

The years passed and she held up to that promise.
Then she met this handsome boy named Thomas.
They became friends at a steady rate.
Until the day he asked her out on a date.

She was shocked, yet she said "Yes"
She stayed up that night. She became obsessed.
The feelings inside were too much to handle.
She told her friends and it turned into a scandal.

The dates went well, the months went by.
In that time, he never made her cry.
God had led her into the worst of temptation,
She soon realized Thomas had a bad reputation.

Thomas started to get picked on
He gave in and felt like a moron.
Years passed and the girl was still faithful.
He hadn't hurt himself so she was so grateful.

Thomas had been diagnosed with depression.
He didn't know what to do. He had so much aggression.
The day had come which he didn't prefer.
It has happened. He broke up with her.

He didn't want the relationship shattered,
But he knew in the end, it wouldn't matter.
She might as well love him and say "Goodbye"
For as of this day Thomas will die.

He took the gun and pointed it at his head.
He pulled the trigger and he was dead.
His parents found him. There was so much blood.
The tears from everybody started to flood.

When the girl found out, she was torn apart.
She fell to the ground holding her heart.
The pain was just unbearable.
Her heart was just not repairable.

Her last thoughts were "Why? "
She promised herself she wouldn't cry.
She felt numb so she closed her eyes.
A broken heart is how she died.
