When I Live In A Field Of Statues

The first light shines and hits the frost
like scattering diamonds my heart is long gone
wandering the icebound paths, loved and lost
and streams glassy with rippling trails left by the swan
perfect neglect I find in thee
whilst autumn gems and winter jewels cover ground and stone
gargoyles and angels could be my company
muted for eternity I would be glad not to be alone
frozen hands and frostcrested eyes might share my disconsolate gloom
listening with deaf ears they would forevermore be there
