Though lonely and silent this world now to me,
One day I will join you wherever you be.
I sit in the gloaming and picture you there,
Smiling at me, from your own favourite chair.
Life was so full, our comradeship true,
And when life brought sorrows,
I shared them with you.
The love and the friendship,
The laughter the tears,
These formed our life's pattern over the years
And I know you will whisper
As I draw my last breath
Our true love can never be severed -- by death.
